Here are some of our favorite healthy swaps for your next family BBQ:

  • ​Bean Salad instead of potato salad: Packed with protein and fiber, bean salads are a nutritious and flavorful choice.
  • ​Grilled Mushrooms instead of grilled corn: Mushrooms have a hearty texture and are perfect for grilling, plus they’re low glycemic.
  • Grilled Acorn Squash instead of potatoes: Sweet and satisfying, acorn squash has about half the amount of carbohydrates, far fewer calories, and is lower on the glycemic index.
  • Lettuce Wraps instead of using a bread bun: Crunchy and refreshing, lettuce wraps are a fun way to enjoy your burgers.
  • Fresh Watermelon instead of a popsicle: Hydrating and sweet, watermelon is a natural and healthier dessert.
